The material 60SPb22 is a silicon-killed free-cutting steel. The addition of lead makes the material easy to machine. 60SPb20 can be tempered.

Heat Treatment

Core hardening, 810 - 840 C°, oil quenching
Core hardening, 800 - 850 C°, water quenching
Tempering, 540 - 680 C°, duration >= 1 hour

Weldability

The material 60SPb22 should not be welded.
