Der Werkzeugstahl 1.2731 ist ein hochlegierter Warmarbeitsstahl. Dieser Werkstoff hat ein austenitisches Gefüge. Durch eine besondere Wärmebehandlung oder durch verschmieden unterhalb der Rekristallisationstemperatur erreicht der Werkstoff seine Einsatzfestigkeit von ca. 1000 N/mm²
