Der Werkstoff 1.3401 ist auch als Hart-Manganstahl bekannt. Nach dem abschrecken hat dieser Stahl ein austenitisches Gefüge. 1.3401 ist sehr Verschleißfest bei starker stoß- und schlagartiger Belastung. Durch die Belastung verfestigt sich die Oberfläche.
